Branden Oliver to Try-Out for Spot on Colt's Roster
MAY 14, 2014, BUFFALO, NY - One of the top Division I running backs out of the Mid-American Conference (MAC), Branden Oliver, will try-out for a roster spot with the Indianapolis Colts during the weekend immediately following the 2014 NFL draft.
The University of Buffalo alum was named to the Doak Walker Watch List, the Walter Camp Watch List and the Maxwell Award Watch List during his college career, boasting the following stats:
Rushing: 866 attempts 4,049 yard 33 touchdowns 4.675 average
Receiving: 75 receptions 655 yards 1 touchdowns 8.73 average
Oliver, known simply as 'Bo,' is ecstatic about the opportunity to kick-start his NFL career.
'I'm grateful for this opportunity, and most importantly I'm ready to get to work - to hit the ground running,' said Oliver on upcoming workout. 'I'm excited to play on such a young team, and to be surrounded by such a great group of guys. There's lots of players I admire on the Colts.'
Oliver's impending contract follows a string of remarkable Bulls running backs, including James Starks (6th round - 2010) of the Packers.
WCM's NFL agent representing Oliver, Derek Spearman, also sung his praises for his client.
'Bo worked really hard during the off-season and benefited tremendously from his private workouts,' said Spearman. 'It's no surprise to me that he was given this opportunity by the Colts.'
