Chicago Bears Linebacker John Timu Participates in Autism Awareness Month
CHICAGO, April 16, 2016 – Chicago Bears Linebacker, John Timu participated in an autograph signing session that took place at the Chicago Eagles game at the UIC Pavilion located at 525 S. Racine, Chicago, IL for Autism Awareness Month. John also prepared a signed football for an unsuspecting fan that has autism. Attendees were encouraged to bring footballs, Bears gear and items to be autographed by John to add to their collection. Fans that attended the pre-game autograph session with the Bears Linebacker were able to get all kinds of memorabilia signed and pictures taken with him. In honor of April being Autism Awareness Month, a portion of the proceeds, from purchased pictures, are being donated to an Autism Awareness organization.
“Being a father of a one-year-old son myself, I'm thankful to be in a position to possibly make a difference,” said John Timu, Chicago Bears Linebacker.“Children are a blessing and we need to do all that we can for them.”
John stayed to watch the Chicago Eagles play Saturday night's game against the Sioux City Bandits and found it quite interesting to see how close the action was when attending a professional indoor arena football game!
ABOUT JOHN TIMU
John Timu is the starting inside linebacker with the Chicago Bears (NFL). He played college football at the University of Washington. John is originally from California and signed with the Bears in 2015. He and is starting a football camp for young children through his upcoming organization.
